Greetings Black Secret Progressives,
With the arrival of Spring, The Black Secret is in full gear with an action-packed program for you. We have also recently returned from the motherland, doing work and being involved with key initiatives both in Egypt and Ethiopia. With The Black History Man Robin Walker rubbing shoulders with Ethiopian dignitaries and political figures including the President Taye Atske Selassie in Addis Abba this February. As well as Brother Jeorge travelling the length of the river Nile from Cairo, the White Desert, Saqqara, Luxor, Aswan, all the way to Abu Simbel in the far South of the Uplands, at the start of the year in preparation for our forthcoming Black Secret Cultural Tours to Ancient Kemet, the Motherland and Beyond, which is shaping up to be something special.
The Start of 2026 has also seen the loss and transition of two of our greatest cultural titans, Dr Charles Sumner Finch III from the world of Black & African History on Saturday 17th January 2026. And the seminal political leader and civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jaskson on Tuesday 17th February 2026. We at the Black Secret will be celebrating the life and achievements of both of these cultural giants with a series of events and programs dedicated to their significant works and achievements. The first of which was our Town Hall Forum Masterclass on Ancient Egypt and the Origin of Science and Technology on Saturday 28th March dedicated to the memory of Dr. Charles Finch III, was an incredible experience, Robin delivered a powerful and fact packed lecture that blow minds wide open. The discussion with our Black Secret Progressives afterwards was also an engaging affair with contributions and ideas been shared by Progressives all over the world.

| The Black Secret’s very own Black History Man Robin Walker was a keynote speaker at the 2026 Annual Council Meeting of the Global Black Centre held on 28th February at the Adwa Victory Memorial, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Robin was invited in his capacity as Vice President of the Diaspora Division. Born from grass roots initiatives first held at the London Ethiopian Embassy in 2021 under the guidance and vision of business man Mr. Tsegaye Chama ( Secretary General ), the Global Black Centre has gone on to establish itself as a major Pan African institution now based at the Adwa Memorial Museum in Addis Abba. Focused on celebrating and propagating African History, its achievements and displaying historic artefacts from across the Diaspora, the Centre now has the full political support and backing of the Ethiopian government.
The Annual Council Meeting was attended by delegates from around the world, with many Ethiopian officials in attendance contributing speeches in support of this global initiative, including H.E. Selamawit Kassa, Ethiopia’s Minister of Tourism. Robin delivered the keynote cultural speech, highlighting the importance of representing all of our collectively histories worldwide through an African centred lens and having this critical institution that will serve as a foundation for reflection, showcasing our history, study and cultural development that will instil proud and an understanding of self that will inspire and move us forward as a people.
Robin was preceded at the podium by the President of Ethiopia Taye Atske Selassie, who gave an impassioned speech about the import of the Global Black Centre and the pride he had in the fact that it was located on Ethiopian soil, the home of Africa’s unbowed Spirit. Robin even had a moment with President Taye himself, when he came on stage and needed a drink before beginning his speech, the President helped out The Black History Man by shared his own water with Robin. No doubt in the spirit of solidarity and true Pan Africanism!

| Late December and early January of 2026, I travelled to Egypt for the second time, and this trip was even more special than the first. I spent 3 plus weeks out there travelling the length and breadth of the country, from Cairo & Giza, the White Desert, to Memphis & Saqqara, Luxor, Aswan, Philae and Abu Simbel, I even managed to squeeze in Dendera before leaving. To say this was a special trip doesn’t do it justice.
I was there for two especial reasons in the main, firstly, to celebrate New Years Day with our friends and business partners based in Luxor ( I also did that the previous year ), and secondly to visit as many ancient sites and historic locations as possible. Also, to experience new resorts, sample their level of service and with our partners out there, to make arrangements to put together and deliver some of the most unique and unforgettable cultural trips and experiences to Ancient Kemet & Modern Egypt, the fabled Land of the Pharaohs with our Black Secret Cultural Study Tours.
Giza and the Great Pyramids
I got to experience so many wonders and delights in my ‘Grand tour of Egypt’, from the awe-inspiring Great Pyramids of the Giza plateau. We stayed in a beautiful apartment in Giza itself, which has a clear view of the Great Pyramids from our balcony. It was both magical and surreal to just walk onto the balcony and witness the Pyramids right before your eyes. At the break of dawn dust clouds from the desert would typically over shadow the Pyramids creating a hazey visage, with clear skies and vibrant views of their pointed shapes coming into sharp focus, often as the sun began to descend and set. I also climbed inside one of the Pyramids, Khufu’s Great Pyramid, if I am not mistaken, into the majestic King’s chamber.

| Going West into the White & Black Deserts
We next went west, spending a romantic night in the surreal other worldly beauty of the White and Black Deserts, camping and experiencing the Bedouin lifestyle and wildlife. We were actually visited at night by a shy desert fox, drawn to smell of our exquisite barbequed banquet of foods ( we give it a little piece of chicken and gravy for its efforts ). After our sumptuous meal ( it really tasted amazing ), as night fell our desert guides played for us some enchanting music and we all danced underneath a dreamy starry night sky before turning to rest in our camp beds.

| Who is Ptahhotep?
Some of you may be wondering who is Ptahhotep? He is actually a very important historical figure, that far too few people are properly aware of. Aside from being of one of, if not my outright personal favourite historical figure, he was a Vizier ( or Prime Minister ) in the 5th Dynasty under Pharoah Djedkare Isesi, known for his sagacity and great wisdom and is the author of the world’s oldest complete book and work of philosophical thought ( circa 2400 BCE * by the short chronology ). This accomplishment is important for two reasons, firstly this book is the oldest ‘complete’ example of a body of text known to mankind. And secondly, it’s a philosophical piece of work which predates the earliest known Greek philosopher Thales by at least 1800 years!
Ptahhotep’s work is a prime example of the wisdom and learning that was always highly prized and exemplified in Ancient Egypt. The Ancient Greeks always acknowledged they learnt and studied what they knew from the Ancient Egyptians direct, and yet mainstream academia and popular society still largely propagates the distorted view that the Greeks are the ‘fathers’ and originators of philosophical thought, when in truth they are closer to been ‘children’ of philosophy, when exposed to the light of what the Ancient kemetians knew and wrote more than 1800 years before them.
It was a privilege to stand in the tomb of this great Vizier and important historical figure, plus also Ptahhotep’s tomb features some of the finest examples of Dynastic wall relief art and painting from the Old Kingdom period. Well worth a visit.
His book is commonly known as; ‘The Instruction of Ptahhotep’
Important Point of Note*
The reader should be aware when researching Ptahhotep and other early philosophers of non-European extraction ( including Kong Ze Confucius ), that their works are classified and labelled in Western academia generally as “Wisdom Teachings”, rather than viewed under the banner of “philosophy” proper. This wrapped treatment has generated a perception in Western academia of a continuity from the Greek philosophers to Descrates as being the only pure and true development of philosophy. While situating Ptahhotep and other early non-white philosophers from as far a field as South America, Africa, Asia and the Far East as producers of “Wisdom Teachings”, as opposed to “philosophy” in a pure sense.
This is how Western academia can and does ( with obvious false biases ) frame Greek philosophers as ‘the originators’ of pure philosophical thought, while artificially down grading and worst still, even out right ignoring those who actually taught the early Greek sages the very art of philosophy in the first place, and dismissing them as not being philosophers themselves! This is one of the reasons why Ptahhotep is not widely talked about or celebrated in the West or mainstream academia as a philosopher when he clearly was, having authored the first known book of philosophy.
Exposing this kind of obvious and unjustifiable bias is one of the reasons why The Black Secret exists, to arm you with the facts and the truth, so that subtle falsehoods like this, can no longer easily hide unchallenged in plain sight.

Hot Air Balloons and Donkeys in Luxor
Luxor as always was a joy to return to, our apartment was on the West Bank of the city with a stunning view of the Nile river only meters away. Waking up every morning to see the sun rising over the horizon, transforming the Nile into a shimmering river of liquid light reflecting its golden rays, is such a magical sight to behold. I also got to take in the sights of Luxor from a whole new vantage point, in a hot air balloon no less. We launched off at dawn and got to witness the sun rising over the landscape with Habu Temple and Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple in view from 2000 feet up in the heavens, simply delightful.
As our majestic ride came to an end, and we slowly descended to the desert floor below, we were trailed by the balloons pick up crew, which consisted of a large lorry ( for balloon and basket, the coach arrived a bit later ) and several individuals keeping pace with the large vehicle astride donkeys! Seeing men riding on donkeys following you in a hot air balloon is just part of the unexpected that visiting Egypt conjures up from time to time.

Aswan, land of Sobek and Crocodiles
Aswan is a special city, we visited the Nubian Village and had a feast at Zahra’s House, we even got to meet and hold one of the pet crocodiles of the house! It was only a baby one though. And what can I say about the wonders of Abu Simbel? It has to be seen to be believed and truly appreciated, a marvel of both ancient and modern engineering.
And Dendera, one of my favourite Temples dedicated to the Goddess of Love Hathor, and one of the most unique Temples as well. Dendera has so much to offer.
In the works and Coming Soon
We’re putting together a very special Cultural Study Tour, where you will experience many wonders and delights that will dazzle your senses and raise your spirits, as you return to African soil and step foot onto the land of our ancient ancestors.
